STAR-CROSSED CHAINS 'Mystery' Quilt PATTERN ONLY

Now the 'MYSTERY' has been revealed - here are pictures of the original and the scrappy version of the quilt I designed as a project for my friends.
Both quilts have now been sold!
The first was a three colour version in crisp white, yellow and blue, with its pretty bright green floral backing and more intense quilting.
The second was a softer scrappy version made from dozens of different fabrics and truly scrappy neutral background, with looser flowing quilting design and amber/brown backing fabric.

Both quilts measured approximately 43 inches square - a perfect lap quilt, throw or even a wall-hanging.

Follow directions for a three colour quilt or, if you are an experienced patchworker, adapt them to make a 'scrappy' version to make a dent in that stash!
